This runs contrary to the belief most Americans have about race. But this is a day which demands new thinking and the reevaluation of old concepts.

We believe one of those concepts is the definition of whiteness, and by looking closely at this word, we can help America and the Accounting profession reach its true potential.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Understand what W.E.B. Dubois called “the problem of the 20th century”

  2. Explore the life stories of famous black figures from different domains (ex. Accounting and Politics) to discover insights about the changing definition of race in America

  3. Understand the role of the Board of Regents and the State Education Department in the administration and maintenance of the CPA license across the United States
